Hurricane Katrina.
Sep 2nd, 2005 by Kate
The amount of damage left behind after Hurricane Katrina is very unfortunate. I really have no comprehension of the actual damage. I know that so many people’s lives have been turned upside down over night, and I’m going to do what I can to help out.
So here’s my question when it comes to the Hurricane disaster: Are we getting any sort of help from abroad? When the tsunami hit, we as a country rallied our resources and sent aid over seas to those who were affected by the natural disaster. We always help everyone else, even when its not our problem. (Which is a bad thing sometimes…) But I have yet to hear anything about any one helping us. I know how organizations within the States started gathering resources within hours of the destruction but who will help us when we can’t help ourselves?
Its so dumb that people are looting and shooting. At lunch yesterday with my grandmother we were discussing how instead of taking the “loot” out of Wal-Mart and other stores like that, they should set up shop. By the time they get the goods out of the store and to wherever they’re trying to live, its probably gone bad or been soaked in the flood water. And why take 20 tubes of toothpaste just because its free? You can’t eat the stuff… Some people are so stupid some times.
Ill Will Press: Hurricane Katriana Special Report (haha!)
I couldn’t agree more. In fact my reply was so long I made it a blog entry of my own on my site so I don’t hijack yours. Off to go finish typing it up.
