Due to my trip to LA and recent discovery of such cool things, this week’s theme is Social Networking! Here are the links:
The Samsung SGH-A400 “Egèo”.
This is a phone that is just a little over the top. According to the Samsung website, “[a]t Samsung, we acknowledge the unique individuality of every modern woman in this society and have thus created the Egèo that will meet her every needs.” Features include a Pink Schedule, Calories Calculator, Bio Rhythm, Fatness Indicator. The last three are obvious but what is this Pink Schedule? With the Pink Schedule, you can enter information on your menstrual cycle and determine many important things about your body including the date of next ovulation, probability of becoming pregnant on the current date, period during which it is possible to become pregnant and date of your next period. Who needs fertility doctors any more?? I’ve never been a big Samsung fan, and I think they’re kind of ugly, but I still want one.
Consumating: A New Way to Find People Who Don’t Suck.
I just signed up for this one so I don’t know a whole lot about it. There are some fun questions to answer and start putting out those networking feelers.
The Daily Candy, Dallas Edition.
If you haven’t signed up for this yet, where have you been? This is a good way to find out about what is hip and new around Dallas. My personal favorite is the Weekend Guide which is sent out on Thursdays. I’ll be thinking about what to do over the upcoming weekend, come up with nothing and then get this email. Awesome resource.
Judy’s Book, Dallas Edition.
Another awesome resource that will help you find whatever it is that you are looking for. People write reviews for places, from restaurants to salons and even vets.
There are of course the staples of social networking: MySpace and Facebook. MySpace is currently talking with Nylon magazine about creating an ink-on-paper MySpace Magazine. I think that’s dumb. And don’t forget Friendster, it’s poised for a come back (Business Week).
