Christmas Meme!

The answers to these questions are a mix of traditions while growing up and how I’ve done the holidays since moving out of the house.
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Both!
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Santa normally doesn’t wrap the presents he left on Christmas morning, but occasionally there would be a mystery gift under the tree that was wrapped. It was usually something to Mom from Dad.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? White. End of story.
4. Do you hang mistletoe? No.
5. When do you put your decorations up? As soon as I get home from the Thanksgiving celebrations.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Mom’s sweet potato casserole.
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child: Going to the Christmas Pops, watching Christmas movies or throwing a fit when dad piled us in the car to go look at lights. It was terribly boring back then, now it’s sort of romantic.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? What is this truth you speak of?! No, just kidding- I think mom pulled me aside one year and told me. But told me not to tell David. I think that’s how it happened.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? We get a new pair of pajamas every year for Christmas- my brother and I open them when we return home from the candle light service at church.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Lights and ornaments that have been collected since childhood.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love it. Can we get some more down here?
12. Can you ice skate? I think I’ve been twice in my life. I’m going to go with no.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Mr. Teddy. I still cuddle with him when I spend the night in Shertown. Santa never brought me a puppy.
14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Being with family and catching up with old friends.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? My dad’s peppermint fudge.
16. What tops your tree? A silver star. It’s sparkly!
17. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Giving.
18. What is your favorite Christmas Song? Carol of the Bells.
19. Candy Canes– yuck or yum?? Not really a fan.
20. What do you serve for Christmas dinner? We don’t usually have Christmas dinner, but we will be this year because we sorta missed out on Thanksgiving. Typically, we’ll have Tex-Mex on Christmas Eve for dinner, go to church, have cookies and punch afterwards at my grandparent’s. Then we’ll go home, Santa comes and we’ll have brunch at my parent’s house the next day. Family is gone by 2, we clean up the mess then go see a movie.
