Fit Bride.

I’m one of those brides who wants to be able to look back at my wedding photos in 30 years and say to myself “Darn, I looked good then!” With eight months to go until W day, it’s time for Bridal Bootcamp!

Not long after getting engaged, I got sick and after 6 weeks of test, ended up having my gallbladder removed the Monday after Thanksgiving. I didn’t get to pig out on yummy Thanksgiving food but on the upside, I lost about 10lbs without any effort because I had no appetite. Fast forward two months, I’ve managed to maintain that weight so I don’t really need to lose any more weight (but another 10lbs wouldn’t hurt), I’ve just got to start toning my muscles. I don’t want to have “granny arms” in a gorgeous strapless dress!

I’ve always been a fairly active person so this should be fairly easy. Here’s how I propose this to happen:

  • I have challenged myself to workout 5 days a week, giving myself two days of rest and sleeping in.
    • Two days a week I attend a 1-hour Boot Camp class after work. My muscles and heart get an excellent workout. I pay for this, there is no reason to miss it and waste money!
    • On Saturday morning I run across the lake bridge which is approx 2 miles across, making it 4 miles round trip.
    • The other two days, I need to spend at least 30 minutes on the elliptical machine to help burn fat.
  • Last year, I joined Weight Watchers for their free 7-day trial to get a better idea of what and how much I should be eating.
    • I continue to monitor my eating keeping in mind how many points I should be eating per day.
    • I try to log my daily points, but I’m not always successful.
    • Pump up the fresh fruits and veggies.
    • I really should try to eliminate processed foods from my diet.
  • I LOVE chocolate and I LOVE yummy beverages.
    • Everything is fine in moderation, I just have to be disciplined enough to say no to that second helping of chocolate cake or finishing the bottle of wine
  • I have recently developed the bad habit of drinking sodas at work. I don’t really need all that sugar and the low after the caffeine high isn’t worth it.
    • More water, less soda!
  • The Mister has also decided to start working out again, which is excellent motivation to keep me moving.

Best of luck! I’m sure you’ll look fabulous anyhow. You always have, in my book.
